Mondays set the tone for your week. There are a couple of little habits that you can do each weekend to ensure that you are prepared for a healthy start to your week. I like to call this my #WellnessWeekend Checklist!
- Go Grocery Shopping - Make a list and then stock up on healthy foods. I like to plan for my breakfasts, lunch and snack options, and 3 dinners.
- Prep some meals/snacks/sides - I love to make some healthy muffins or granola bars for breakfasts. I then like to cut up some veggies to have with hummus or for stir fry or salads. Next clean and up your fruits for quick snacks or to throw in a smoothie. I then usually make a batch of brown rice or quinoa for sides with dinner. You don't have to go crazy here, just cutting your fruits and veggies will help to save you time and stress during your week.
- Wash your workout clothes - Make sure all of your workout necessities are ready to get sweaty!! This can also include getting your gym bag ready for your week with your ear buds, protein powder or bars, and any other toiletries that you use before or after your workout.
- Plan your workouts on a calendar - Write down when you plan on doing what. Plan that yoga class you've been dying to try, map out your workouts for the gym (what you are going to do - chest, treadmill, legs, etc.), and confirm your sessions with your trainer or friend.
Taking a few moments each weekend to ensure that you are set up for success will eliminate some of the crazy guess work that making healthy choices can bring. Give yourself a head start by checking off this #WellnessWeekend Checklist :)
